“THE SWEET, SOLEMN MUSIC OF GEORGE HARRISON…HAS RARELY SOUNDED MORE MAJESTIC THAN IN THE SWEEPING PERFORMANCES OF THE ENLARGED STAR-STUDDED BAND THAT GATHERED IN LONDEN AT ROYAL ALBERT HALL ON NOV. 29, 2002.” NEW YORK TIMES

One year to the day that George Harrison left us, his closest friends gathered at London’s Royal Albert Hall to celebrate his life in the only way they knew how – by playing his music. On November 29th, 2002, this amazing and historic tribute concert was filmed in hi-definition.

Directed by David Leland, Concert For George captures stunning renditions of some the most significant music of the 20th century, including “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (featuring Eric Clapton on guitar, Paul McCartney on piano and Ringo Starr on drums), “Taxman” (performed by Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers) and “The Inner Light” (covered by Jeff Lynne and Anoushka Shankar.) Other artists include Joe Brown, Dhani Harrison, Jools Holland, Monty Python, Billy Preston, Ravi Shankar and more. Not rated, the film runs 101 minutes.
